1.

It's Free. Arctic Roadways is funded by the manufacturing industry, which means our primary services are free to you. The manufacturing industry is taking extra steps to help infrastructure owners consider geofoam materials during the project engineering design phase.

Our objective is to provide geofoam project stakeholders with the information and resources needed to effectively evaluate geofoam as an option in their project. All material or service recommendations we provide will align with the project’s best interests, and if geofoam is selected as a material in your project, we can provide support through the entire process and up until the project installation is complete.

2.

Specialized Experience. Arctic Roadways is a group of engineers specialized with geofoam and cold region infrastructure projects that are challenged with permafrost thaw and seasonal frost cycles.  Bryan will work as your initial point of contact and will bring in suitable resources to support your project as needed. Distinguished Network. Our base location in Anchorage, Alaska, has enabled us to a pack a full network of cold region professionals that are experienced with geofoam.  We work with various project owners, engineers, contractors, distributors, and manufacturers that deal with cold region challenges regularly.  We routinely work with industry, government, and university professionals.  Here are some of the project owners our team has worked with:

  • Alaska State Department of Transportation and Public Facilities

  • Anchorage Water and Wastewater Authority

  • Arctic Slope Regional Corporation

  • ConocoPhillips

  • Municipality of Anchorage

  • University of Alaska Fairbanks

  • US Department of Defense

  • US Army Corps of Engineers

4.

Technical Knowledge.

Industry experience has equipped us with a unique database about geofoam. We have information that may be useful to your project pertaining to:

  • Material performance data, to help you understand more about the three most important properties of geofoam including thermal resistance, moisture resistance, and load-bearing response

  • Manufacturing capabilities,  to help you identify local product options and custom product opportunities

  • Standards & specification, to help you get a handle on government and industry guidance

  • Design and construction best practices, to help you achieve the best product performance

5.

Global Reach. Our network spans across the United States, Canada, and Northeast Asia. While we focus our attention on cold regions that face challenges from seasonal frost and permafrost (usually found in the blue and purple areas on the map below), we can provide support to any geofoam project anywhere in the world.  We would enjoy learning about your project!
